Preity Zinta has returned with unpleasant memories of being pushed by the media in the pilgrim town.
'Good morning! Went to Shirdi yesterday and came back with memories of media pushing me instead of the serene face & energy of Sai Baba (sic),' an irritated Preity posted on her Twitter page.
"Not every celebrity goes to a temple for Tamasha (publicity). Some genuinely go to pray and to disturb them is bad karma," Preity said on micro-blogging site Twitter.
"I wonder why temples have become so commercial. Why a temple trustee's urge to be photographed with a celebrity is entertained by the media," she said.
She organized a VIP darshan to be blessed by Sai Baba. But on noticing shutterbugs in the room, Preity got a bit freaked.
She quickly put her pallu on her face. "She was looking lovely in a maroon salwar kameez but the moment she saw photographers trying to click her, she got very, very upset. She put up her right hand very close to the cameras, so that she could block the view. The cameramen were shocked."
She went on to tweet from her Twitter handle @realpreityzinta: “I wonder why r temples have become so commercial? Why A temple trustee’s urge 2 b photographed with a celebrity is entertained by media? [sic]”
The actress was allegedly pushed around by the media, so much so that she folded her hands and begged them to leave her alone, following which she covered her head with a scarf and went on to ignore them.
Zinta then tweeted again: “In front of god we bare ourselves and look to purify our soul. Instead of feeling uplifted I came back feeling sad & deprived from Shirdi. [sic]
“In the rut to make anything news have we forgotten to respect god and someone's genuine devotion? I fold my hands to the media & request Dem 2 Respect us & respect GOD! Not every celebrity goes 2 a temple 4 Tamasha [show]! Some genuinely go 2 pray & 2 disturb them then is bad karma! [sic]”
But all was not lost, for the celebrity ended her Twitter rant on a positive note, saying: “Maybe this experience was his way of taking away all the negativity; & 4 the future I have brought his statue home from Shirdi ! :-) Ting! [sic]”
These days the actress is only busy with her TV show on Colors, which is the Indian version of “Guinness World Record”. But even that seems too tiring for the actress who tweeted recently: “Just finished shooting 1 of the Guinness world record episodes! Hats off to Amitji, Salman, Shah Rukh, Akshay and Priyanka Chopra for rocking TV as its so tiring Phew! [sic]."
